What You Should Know About Dental Implants

Dental implants are an integral phase of restorative dentistry. They are basically metal screws which are inserted into the jaw bone. Their purpose is to serve as an anchor for false teeth. Implants can be used to anchor one tooth, a few teeth, or an entire set. When the restoration procedure is complete, the anchor will not be visible. The installation of these implants is a quite common procedure that many individuals undergo before having their false teeth put in. They work for most everyone, as long as there is enough bone in the area to hold the implant in place. If there isn’t, bone grafts can be done to replace the bone that is missing. This means most everyone who needs tooth restoration can receive an implant successfully.
