The Christmas holiday is a busy time of year, and what better way could there be but to spend the 5th of December morning with your whole family remembering the true meaning of Christmas with nativity costumes at the nativity play? The Christmas holidays are a favorite time of year for nearly everyone and with it comes the nativity story of baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the trip to Bethlehem.
Nativity plays are a fantastic method to involve your children in the story of the birth of Jesus. They will certainly need a nativity costume to totally get into their parts.
There are plenty of nativity outfits in costume stores on the web and in your local stores, where you can find costumes for your Joseph, Mary, kings or Wiseman for under $30. Nativity outfits are an integral part of the Christmas period and are available in various sizes.
Making your own costume can be a good alternative. Materials can be a bit expensive, but a lot of mileage can be got out of buying standard cotton sheets. Look out for the sale items to get a good bargain on standard cotton sheets. Dress Joseph and Mary in the same manner, a length of tan or beige robe can be used as a belt for the waist. A good color for Joseph could be a brown or gold colored sheet and it might make a headpiece too whereas the costume for Mary would be a blue tabard with a white headdress.
Dressing up in costumes is not only for Halloween or just for kids any more. Always remember that the Christmas season is to have fun. Being at a nativity play where everyone wears Biblical nativity costumes will be a festive celebration that will be remembered for a very long time.
